The Webbed Black Suit is a suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, available for Peter Parker. A variant of the Black Suit, it is the Venom symbiote version of the Webbed Suit. Due to being a movie suit, it does not possess any suit styles.

Characteristics[]

The Webbed Black Suit is, as the name implies, a black version of the Webbed Suit.

In addition to the all-black color scheme, the spider emblems are also changed, with the legs forming a more triangular shape. The raised webbing is also colored a lighter shade of silver-white in order to stand out more clearly against the black fabric.

Like the Webbed Suit, it lacks the shutter-style eyes featured on most other suits, instead featuring completely static lenses.

Unique Feature

As a symbiote suit, the Webbed Black Suit is exempt from costume damage. However, unlike other symbiote suits, it instead retains the usual white webbing and utilizes the Spider Arms for the Spider-Dash and Spider-Jump moves.

Original appearance[]

The Webbed Black Suit is inspired by the costume worn by Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3 (2007), directed by Sam Raimi.

Preying upon his pain and anger over learning that Flint Marko (the Sandman) is the true culprit behind Uncle Ben's murder, the Venom symbiote bonds with Peter Parker. In addition to creating the Webbed Black Suit, the symbiote also augments Peter's abilities and makes him much more aggressive and arrogant. He only realizes the extent of the symbiote's influence after he accidentally strikes Mary Jane Watson in far more rage than before, and quickly flees to a church to remove it, only succeeding due to the church bell's ringing causing the symbiote to destabilize.

Almost immediately after its removal, the symbiote proceeds to bond with Eddie Brock and transform him into Venom. Eddie had coincidentally been at the same church to pray for Peter's death after Peter exposed him as a fraud for editing one of his older photos of Spider-Man and passing it off as "incriminating evidence."
