The Underground are one of the two main antagonistic factions of Miles Morales. They are a terrorist group led by Tinkerer in her war against Roxxon. The Underground make use of advanced technology in battle, including equipment designed to fight the new Spider-Man.
History
Early history
Not much is known about the Underground's past, as much of the group's history has been spent in relative obscurity. They had an alliance of some sort with Tombstone's gang, which was broken when an Underground member killed one of Tombstone's gang.
Many among the Underground were sickened during the Devil's Breath crisis, which nearly spelled doom for their group. However, the aftermath of the crisis, particularly the arrests of Mister Negative and Tombstone, left a power vacuum that the Underground exploited: the gang took down both rival factions.
Characteristics
The Underground consists of younger people with a fairly even distribution of men and women (as opposed to many of New York's criminal organizations, which appear to be predominantly male).
Gameplay
Equipment
Underground equipment are created by Tinkerer using programmable matter. It can change into weapons like swords, guns, gauntlets and shields. The glowing backpack behind their back probably act as a power source for the programmable matter to work.
Caches
They are 35 caches all over the City and some caches result some underground enemies appear.
Hideouts
Much like the Roxxon labs, the tasks are similar in the Underground hideouts. Another interesting note is that there are some references to the original Marvel's Spider-Man like Tombstone's bike, the Demon masks and the Maggia assets.
