Trail of the Cat is the sixth main mission in "The Heist" downloadable content for Marvel's Spider-Man. Mary Jane Watson calls Spider-Man to inform him where Black Cat's last location was. Spider-Man tracks her.

Story[]

Spider-Man investigates the location in Greenwich that Mary Jane mentioned. There, he sees a police blockade and an injured security guard. At the crime scene, he finds volume two of a book, which he deduces does not contain a Maggia flash drive, and near a Macchio crime family pawnshop, puts together a trail that leads him to "Vito", a man from the Macchio family who appears to have been taken out by Black Cat.

The trail continues to an area overlooking Hammerhead thugs, as Spider-Man sees that the book Black Cat gave them did not contain the flash drive. Black Cat told the thug she gave it to that she wanted to deliver the drive to Hammerhead herself, leading the other thugs to beat execute him for believing her and not following orders, at which point Spider-Man interrupts them. He then gives the book to the police, having not retrieved the drive.

With this, only one drive with data on the Maggia families remains before Black Cat has the drives on all the Maggia families. Spider-Man calls Mary Jane and informs her of this, and the fact that Black Cat is working for Hammerhead as he has her son. The conversation ends awkwardly when Spider-Man admits to her that if Black Cat does have a son, he could be the father.

Walkthrough[]

Around the crime scene, investigate the book and the spilled liquid near the pawnshop. After completing the puzzle here, follow the trail leads to a member of the Macchio crime family, and a battle begins against Maggia thugs. The battle is fairly straightforward, and once beat, continue the trail. This leads to another battle against Maggia, with brutes participating also. The Impact Web here is effective at webbing enemies to walls.

Once complete, after a call with Mary Jane ends the mission, you are free to patrol New York City and complete tasks (such as crimes, Screwball Challenges, or Hardy's Stolen Art), before she calls Spider-Man again for the next mission, "Pursuing the Truth".
