The Classic Suit is a suit, in which players can use for Peter Parker in Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The suit is based on the classic Spider-Man suit from Marvel Comics.
In Marvel's Spider-Man, Peter begins the game with the suit's repaired version, until the end of The Main Event where it becomes damaged. While the damaged version is available by default and no suit powers, the repaired version requires to be unlocked alongside its associate suit power Web Blossom.
In later games, with the implementation of costume damages since Miles Morales, a damaged version of this suit is only available when Peter takes many hits without changing the suit.
Characteristics[]
The Classic Suit follows a blue and red color scheme. The body, head, outer arms, upper hip, and knee-high boots are red while the inner arms, upper legs, and outer torso are matt blue. The colors are in a bright tone, especially among the red coloring. The eye lenses are black on the outline and white in the middle. They are also wide.
The spider insignia is small, fist-sized, and centered just above the chest. At the back, there is another spider insignia but instead of black, it's red and big. The web-shooters are located in the wrists. The boots are also slightly below the knee, with black outlining covering them and the feet. The black outlining in particular resembles a spider's web, especially on the mask area and the torso. These outlines split the suit into rectangle segments, which are especially visible on the torso area, neck and shoulders.
Other versions of the suit are the Vintage Comic Book Suit and the Cyborg Spider-Man Suit. The Vintage Comic Book suit is a comic book-style version of the suit while the Cyborg version is a less-damaged version of the suit equipped with cybernetic artillery.
The damaged variant is nearly identical to the repaired version, with several distinctions. It is covered in dust and dirt marks, especially around the upper legs. There are also several tears throughout the suit, most visibly a large gash over the center exposing the chest. Other notable tears are just below the left knee, on the outer right leg, the outer right torso and the inner right arm.
Styles[]
- Color 1: Default color scheme.
- Color 2: The suit's colors are inverted, known as Web-Man.
- Color 3: The blues are darkened significantly, resembling Steve Ditko's early drawings of Spider-Man.
- Color 4: The colors are slightly more saturated, and the spider emblems are white, resembling the Advanced Suit.
Gameplay[]
Marvel's Spider-Man[]
Players start the game using the repaired version, but it becomes damaged during Peter's fight against Kingpin in the climax of The Main Event, the first mission. With Otto Octavius's aid in the mission Something Old, Something New, Peter upgrades this suit into the Advanced Suit. After completing said mission, the damaged version of the suit is available by default. Peter can also craft the repaired version for 2 Backpack Tokens and 2 Crime Tokens.
The repaired version comes with the Web Blossom special power, allowing Spider-Man to launch Impact Web-like attacks all around him in a spinning attack, webbing up any enemies nearby and launching them away – which can pin them to walls or other objects.
Original appearance[]
The Classic Suit is based on the iconic original costume that Spider-Man has worn for most of his career in the comics.
